Do you lack motivation? It happens to us all. One day we’re motivated and the next day we’re not. Staying motivated isn’t easy. If it were, everybody would be perpetually motivated.

You may have felt good about a certain job or project when it first began. You were filled with enthusiasm. Then you hit a few speed bumps and unexpected things happened. Are you going to be “real” this year? As a highly sensitive person, I know the importance of the time to get real right now!

Another year has closed its doors, and a new year is open before us. It is the perfect time to reflect upon our lives and make positive plans for the future. The thought of having a clean slate and getting a fresh start motivates us to improve our lives. The New Year is full of endless possibilities and potential. What positive action steps are you going to take this year?

What 10 positive action steps are you going to take this year? I’m going to list my action steps to help you start the process. Make a written list and refer to it every day. It’s important to keep up this repetition to keep you focused on the right path. It’s too easy to become distracted by everyday life.

(1) I’m going to conquer becoming upset over the little things. I tend to let “upsets” set the tone for my day. It’s normal to be bothered, but not at the expense of not having a productive day that clutter your thought process. Acknowledging these distractions and letting them go is the only way for me to go! Do you have good habits of mind? The Habits of Mind are an identified set of 16 problem solving, life related skills, necessary to effectively operate in society and promote strategic reasoning, insightfulness, perseverance, creativity and craftsmanship.
