How well do you take care of yourself? I know that this question might seem a little strange to HSPs, since our first inclination is to take care of others. We often place the needs of others above what we need.
Do you take the time to think about what you need? This is not being selfish. After all, you can’t give to others when your energy is depleted, either physically, emotionally, or both.
What would it take to “lighten your load”? Does your body get as much sleep as it needs? Are you saying “yes” to things that you want to say “no” to? What kinds of things would help you recharge your emotional and physical batteries? Do you skip these activities because of other priorities?
On that note, I’m pleased to introduce a set of music CDs that have specifically arranged classical music designed to support and nurture the nervous system. As highly sensitive people, we often have overworked nervous systems, which cause us to feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, and fatigued. If I did not have this music to comfort and encourage me, I would never have been able to finish writing my book, Making Sense of Your High Sensitivity.
Since these CDs have worked wonders for me, I am honored to share them with you. Check http://www.thehighlysensitiveperson.com/essential-sound for details. It is my sincere hope that you give them a try and that you get as much from them as I have.
How Well Do You Take Care of Yourself? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.
