There is good in the world!

There is good in the world! Do you ever become cynical when you listen to the news, watch television, or when you read newspaper or internet articles that tell you the latest horrific news?

Well friends, here’s an uplifting and heart-warming story! A single mother, Patricia Feeney, sought help for her five-year old daughter, Brianna, who is blind and cannot talk, walk, or crawl as a result of a genetic developmental disorder.

Daily efforts to move Brianna in and out of the house in a wheelchair proved challenging because the home was not handicapped accessible, but several community groups worked together to bring in a crew to start ramp construction.

“I had no idea that we were going to have twenty kids out here and more who want to help us, I’m not only impressed, but I’m just amazed at the compassion, Patricia Feeney commented.”

Feeney’s home was selected for the charity effort by the Boyle Memorial Foundation, the local Elks Lodge, and the Knights of Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus chief counselor, Bill Butrico, commented that helping other people is a part of life. If you learn this at an early age, it becomes very natural to do it throughout your life.

Feeney said the process has been exciting for her and her family, not only knowing her day-to-day transport for Brianna will be easier, but knowing that she has so much support from her town.

“What’s been happening has been magical, this is a miracle, Patricia Feeney said, Brianna gets a lot of love!”

Isn’t it comforting to know that there is really good in the world? Do you look for the good or do you become overwhelmed with the negative aspects of life? I choose to look for the good, but I’m always mindful of the negative aspects of life. I don’t let it cloud my feelings of life overall.

What do you think? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.
