Shouldn’t life be easier?

Shouldn’t life be easier? I’ve ask myself this questions many times. Just when I think that I have myself together and things are going well, something seems to upset my little life apple cart!

Wouldn’t you think that as you get older, life would be easier and simpler? Not necessarily! With each passing year there are new challenges, new changes, including world changes and personal ones, and new people to personally annoy you.

I’ve been accused and diagnosed as having PPOS. You haven’t heard of this? It’s called Perpetually Pissed Off Syndrome. It can strike anyone at anytime. It’s not fatal, but it can shorten your lifespan. PPOS can make your life miserable.

You become cynical and have less patience for everyone and everything. It does nothing to promote your mood and well-being. The cure for this malady is self-awareness that your sabotaging yourself and giving up the need to have a perfect life.

It’s not realistic to think that life should be easier at any point in your life. Life is a series of highs and lows. The trick is to keep your life on an even keel, whether you’re at high or low point in your life. The goal is to have a balanced life.

A balanced life is achieved by having a strong support system, family and friends, for the trying times that we all have, and having the strength and confidence to believe that we can handle anything that comes our way.

You develop that strength by overcoming obstacles and learning lessons from them. The more “victories” you have, the more you’re able to withstand the “slings and arrows” of life that we all face.

I’m getting better from having the need to have a perfect life. I need reminders from time to time that it’s impossible to have perfection in any area of your life.

Shouldn’t life be easier? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.
