It should be pretty obvious that everyone deserves to be happy. Happiness is a state of mind. It’s merely a reaction to the good and bad things in our lives. Some of us have the good fortune to be born with a happy disposition. Others might have to “work” at being happy.
Where do you fit into the happy scheme? Do you have the habit of looking for the positive or negative in everyday life situations? Does it bother you to be unhappy or are you “addicted” to your misery?
Why would anyone prefer to be unhappy? It could be a bad habit that was formed in childhood. It could possibly be from self-pity, which is an unconscious cause of chronic unhappiness. Self-pity is an attention getting device to have people feel sorry for you.
Some people are afraid to be happy. They are afraid to trust others that might add to their well being. They also distrust themselves to make good judgments that would add to their joy.
There are countless people that don’t feel they deserve happiness. Everyone deserves to be happy! It’s a question of whether you really want to be.
Misfortunes happen to all of us. It’s not what happens to us, it’s how we react to the difficult times in our lives. Happy people are generally too busy to be unhappy. They live for today and tomorrow rather than yesterday.
We all have choices to make. Why not be happy? Get out of that unhappiness rut. Awareness of bad habit unhappiness patterns will help you break them. If you need outside help, seek it! There’s no reason why you can’t lead a happy and fulfilled life.
